PS Plus Extra will be losing five games from its catalogue in August, once the subscription service's next update rolls around in the middle of the month. In other words, you've only got a limited amount of time to try these titles before they're hooked.
The marked games are as follows:
- NBA 2K24 (PS5, PS4)
- Need For Speed Unbound (PS5)
- SpellForce 3 Reforced (PS5, PS4)
- Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed (PS5, PS4)
- Trials of Mana (PS4)

Granted, they're not the most high profile titles in the catalogue, but it's a decent little selection. In particular, remade action RPG Trials of Mana is worth highlighting because an all-new Mana game, Visions of Mana, is releasing next month on the 29th August. If you want a taste for what the series is about before this fresh adventure hits, we'd recommend giving Trials of Mana a shot.
Meanwhile, Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed could be considered if you're looking to pass the time with something a bit less serious. And SpellForce 3 Reforced might catch your eye if you're in the mood for a sprawling strategy title with a role-playing edge.
Will you be getting any of these games downloaded before they're gone? Plan out your next adventure in the comments section below.

Sad to see spell force leave. I tried it for a bit, but the controls were a bit wonky and I didn't have the patience for it at the time. It looked like a fun game though. Maybe ill buy it on a cheap sale.
Thanks for putting Extra in the title.👍
Trials of Mana was good, looking forward to Visions. After Inplay Tails of Arise which I bought years ago but just haven’t got to yet. Probably going to seem lame after finishing Rebirth last night, probably need a JRPG break first, maybe GoW: R next.🤷🏻♂️
Got two more routes to go in trials of mana
Trials of mana stings a bit, really wanted to play it but it's worthy of a buy even if to this day, I still haven't lol
Arghh... I just had to drop all other games to complete tiny tina wonderlands since the last announcement of leavers. Now I gotta do the same for nfs unbound.
I will never get to my backlog of purchased games and I've been on a ps3 spending spree recently
@TheFakulty I'm a simple man. I see "PS3 spending spree" and press like
Oh no twials of mana is leaving
@Czar_Khastik fed up of waiting to see if remasters or back compatibility ever comes about. So been using a site that tells you all the ps3 store deals and couldn't resist
@TheFakulty There are deals on the ps3 store? Or are you just using the site to see what's on the ps3 store?
@Czar_Khastik deals, not massive but deffo some

Unbound, ruhroh.
It was never going to be on Plus Extra for long, being a relatively recent AAA game and all - turns out it was a six month contract, then. Its average Trophy rarity on PSNProfiles was falling nicely pretty much ever since it was added, but that's sure to rise as Trophy hunters now flock to it.
Glad I finished it way back in April. Pretty unremarkable game, most of it is just filler. Easy Plat though.
@Golem25 yes I am finding the campaign to be boring, especially the whole calendar, where you don't know what car you going to need to get you through and not earning enough at the beginning to have enough cars with various ratings required, let alone tune them up to be competitive
@TheFakulty Thanks, mate! I'll check it out and complete my digital wishlist.
Unrelated fun fact: here in Croatia the PS3/Vita/PSP store is closed after our currency changed to Euro last year. Sony didn't bother to reflect the currency change in the legacy store so it's a matter of time when the store will be closed for good
Do you need to have played Secret of Mana first? I was just about to start that one.
That link you can change to reflect all different regions for ps store too so you can see which has the best deals
The NBA games never stick around these things long it’s a real shame.
NBA2K24. Ha. Lemme tell ya a story.
Every night after work I’d log onto my PS5 and see my buddy playing NBA2K24. He was addicted! For months I thought to myself, hey, this game must really be awesome and I should save up for it, but $70 for a game that’ll be outdated in a couple of months? Hmm.
Anyway, lo and behold, 2K24 becomes a PS+ game. I go to download it, but, D’OH! I need more space on my hard drive. So I delete a game here, a game there, another game here…try installing…nope, still need more room. I delete another game, and another, and another…until there were only 9 or 10 still on my hard drive. I still had Balatro, a couple of VR2 games, Robocop, Diablo IV, and a couple of other triple A games I had been meaning to play.
FINALLY, my PS5 is ready for the NBA2K24 download! I’m psyched! So I download it, and I play it. Ok. Cool. Pretty good game, fun game, but I grow tired of it pretty quickly. Timberwolves finally have a good team to play with, so that’s good. (The Antman cometh!) But, ya know, it’s just like all the other basketball games of the past, and I’ve been there and done that, and I missed playing my other games. So, after about a week, I delete 2K24 off my system and re-download the games I had deleted. Back up to 79 games on my PS5 hard drive.
After all this time, I finally see my buddy in person, and I get a chance to talk to him about why he plays so much NBA2K24. Why is it always on? Why is it so much better than previous years’ games? What is it about 2K24 that’s so awesome? Is he really THAT addicted to 2K24?!
His response?
“Dude, I can’t play any of my other games. I had to delete them all to make room for 2K24.”
🤣🤣🤣
Glad I got to try Trials. NFS Unbound was ok for a bit with the music off. And that's all I've got to say.
